Engineered Wood Flooring QC Report

Natural hardwood flooring can last a lifetime with proper care and maintenance. Scheduling regular inspections and checking for signs of damage will allow you to catch problems before they get bigger and more expensive. Here’s what to look for when inspecting your wood flooring.

Moisture content: Like dry veneer, our inspector use moisture meter to check MC about every 20mins. Take sample to weight then put into equipment which was adjusted. Standard : after drying veneer MC reach to 6%-8%.

Gaps: Look for large gaps between planks or signs that gaps have gotten bigger or irregular.

Warping or buckling: Warping and buckling is when the floor lifts in one or more places. This happens due to extreme water damage, humidity, or moisture.

Cupping or crowning: Cupping and crowning are caused by water damage and excess moisture. You will see that the edges of the planks are higher than the center or that the center is higher than the edges.

Stains and discoloration:  If your floor isn’t sealed, it is at risk of stains and discoloration. Look for areas where the floor is darker or lighter than the surrounding area.

Problems with the finish: Finish problems are problems with the floor’s wax, stain, or varnish. Look for signs that the finish is peeling, scratched, or contaminated with debris.

Paint adhesion /adhesive: Our inspector or technical manager use tool cut grid line until see wood surface ,then place center of the adhesive plaster about 5mins then take down at a 60 degree angle. Under the natural light to check carefully whether show mark of grid line at different degree, without grid line that is qualified.

Wear-resistant: Taking small sample to punch a 6mm diameter hole in the centre and clean surface. First weighting sample and record the number.Will set 100 rotation and speed 60r/min, until the number of turns reach 100 take down the sample need to weight again .The different between the two weighing values of 1mg is standard.

Glossy: After finished our inspector check glossy degree with Glossy meter that reach customer’s requirement during the production process.
